QS
9000 is an industry specific standard developed by
Ford, General Motors and Chrysler with participation
of member companies of TAG.
A
similar standard has been developed by ISO called
ISO/TS 16949.
Both
these Standards are intended to define the fundamental
quality system expected by the auto OEM is from their
internal and external suppliers of production materials,
production and service parts, finishing services like
heat treatment, painting, plating etc. and tools &
equipments.
