Auditor Skills Update Training Course
Purpose & Outcome
The course is meant for updating the knowledge
and skills of practising auditors. The course has
been designed to meet fully the requirements of
course criteria as laid down in IRCA/2004/98/1.
The course relates to the ISO 9000 and ISO 14000
series standards and uses the information contained
in ISO 10011.
The successful participant shall be able to :
- plan and organise audits of integrated systems
- prepare audit criteria for various types of
specialised audits
- prepare check lists for specialised audits
- conduct audit of integrated management systems
- have better understanding of new standards,
auditing technique changes, and Quality
tools & techniques.
Objectives
- Update knowledge of practising auditors
- Supplement existing skills of practising
auditors for quality and other management
systems
- Improve auditor skills and understanding in
specific areas such as :
- plan and organise audits using latest
techniques
- understand role of IRCA, UKAS and recent
developments in the certification process
- understand difference in performing audits
against management system standards
(other than quality)
- update auditors knowledge of latent
quality tools and technique
Process
The process is through formal class room sessions,
small group exercises, open forum discussions,
presentation by participants. Emphasis is placed on
the following :
- Introduction to audits
- Specialised audits
- Practicalities and problems of auditing
- Changes in audit standards and future
developments
- Auditing of total integrated management
systems
- Emerging developments in Quality
- Development and roles of organisation for
certification
- IRCA registration scheme (Individuals &
