Do You Follow These Total Quality Management Principles?

Total Quality Management or TQM is an approach that organizations use to improve their internal processes so as to satisfy their customers. When properly implemented, TQM can bring a better overall performance with decreased costs, which leads to loyal and satisfied customers. All members involved in the organization are required to participate in improving the products, services, processes and culture of the workplace. Strategy, data, effective communication, and continual improvement are required to bring effective results.

A number of solutions can help you implement a quality management system in your workplace. Along with that, there are many other principles that must be integrated throughout every department of your organization and at every level of management. These principles will serve as a foundation for all your activities. Make sure you are capable enough of implementing these fundamental principles throughout your organization. It could lead to a huge cultural change in your company, but if you build up your foundation on these quality principles, you can be sure to work towards long-term success. In order to get into deep understanding of these principles and how you can integrate them in your processes, you can take up professional Quality Management System Training in India by experts like TQMI.

Systematic and strategic approach

The first step in the TQM process is to realize the problem of quality and control it. It requires a systematic and strategic approach to achieve an organization’s mission and goals. You must formulate a strategic plan that involves quality as the core component.

Process thinking

Process thinking is another important component of TQM, which involves a series of steps that take inputs from suppliers and transform them into outputs that are delivered to customers. These steps are defined and the performance id continually monitored to detect unexpected variation. If you have problems in your process, it doesn’t matter how many employees you hire or how many training sessions you put them through; you won’t be able to achieve results.

Employee involvement

Every individual working within an organization must realize that they are in some way or the other important to the company, and that they must play a part in ensuring high levels of quality in their products/services. Every employee within the company must take up responsibility to satisfy the customers with the end products. Every employee may have a different goal, but the company has one common goal that needs to be achieved by every member of the organization working towards it.

Quantifying the results

TQM can only be effective when you quantify the results. Data on performance measures is necessary to know how the organization is performing. Data must be continually collected and analyzed to improve decision making and achieve consent. Moreover, it will also help to make predictions based on the past, and set future goals.

Continual improvement

TQM is not a onetime procedure; it is in fact a continual process improvement. Improvements must occur frequently and continually in order to achieve customer satisfaction and increase customer loyalty. This kind of continual improvement will help the organization to find ways that can help it to become more competitive and effective.
