How Can Six Sigma Prove To Be Beneficial For Your Business?

Six Sigma is the finest method that helps in eliminating defects in any process. It works on any of the two methods – DMAIC (Define – Measure – Analyze – Improve – Control) for existing processes; and DMADV (Define – Measure – Analyze – Design – Verify) for new processes. Implementing these methodologies within a business offers a multitude of benefits, with the most popular ones mentioned below.

Six Sigma reduces waste

Six Sigma can identify the unnecessary wastes related to time, materials, and costs. All kinds of unnecessary movement of information, people, and products can be identified, along with untapping employee creativity and skills, are identified. Also, overproduction and other excess work production can be eliminated by showing where manufacturing of products and output of services can be cut off that go beyond the requirements of immediate use.

Six Sigma helps with time management

Implementing Six Sigma methodologies within a business can help employees manage their time effectively, thus leading to increased productive employees and an efficient business. This is because goals are set based upon the performance and fulfillment areas of the business, to which the principles of Six Sigma are applied.

Six Sigma reduces cycle time

Many businesses face extensions in their deadlines due to changes in their schedules and policies, which is not essentially acceptable. But, when Six Sigma is applied, it helps businesses to set up a team of experienced employees from all levels within the organization, which can identify factors that can negatively affect the project and lead to long cycle times. Accordingly, they can find solutions to such problems, which reduces the cycle times for projects by sticking to the decided schedules.

Six Sigma encourages employee motivation

Businesses that have motivated employees, who act in the right way, visibly show a drastic 25-50% improvement in productivity. Implementing Six Sigma problem solving tools and techniques can help employees develop themselves, thus creating an environment for employee motivation. Also, Six Sigma results in reduced workload which further boosts employee  morale, and helps them realize the positive returns of quality work, ultimately reducing employee turnover and burnout.

Six Sigma increases customer loyalty

The success of a business depends highly on the loyalty of its customers, which only comes after high levels of customer satisfaction. Implementing Six Sigma helps one to understand the attributes of the products offered that are important to the customer's perception of satisfaction, thus reducing the risk of the business having dissatisfied customers.

Six Sigma increases shareholder value

The values of shares for the business go up with Six Sigma implementation. This is because of the increase in income and number of customers that the business gets. The increased customer loyalty and confidence increases the stock value and the value to shareholders, thus making everyone satisfied with the business output.

With all these benefits of Six Sigma, you may have now realized the importance of having all your employees and your organization attain professional Six Sigma certification in India. You can get the same from TQMI, the premier consultancy organization in India specializing in the field of quality management since more than the past two decades.
