Mr. Mehta has the unique blend of business experience for 25 years leading to the position of Chief Executive and 35 years of consulting experience guiding organizations on variety of Total Quality Management and business excellence approaches from Europe, Japan, and the USA. He has contributed to the development of national infrastructure for quality, standardization and conformity assessment in India and has advised other countries. He contributed to global integration of quality movement as President and later Chair of International Academy for Quality (IAQ) and Chairperson of Asian Network for Quality (ANQ); and through collaboration with American Society for Quality (ASQ), European Organization for Quality (EOQ), Union of Japanese Scientists and Engineers (JUSE), Middle East Quality Association (MEQA) and Asia Pacific Quality Organization (APQO). He has been the founding President of Indian Society for Quality from 1996 to 2001.

For his outstanding contribution, he has been elected as Honorary Chairperson of the Asian Network for Quality (ANQ) and Honorary Member of the International Academy for Quality (IAQ) and. Mr. Mehta has chaired awards committees at IAQ, ANQ and Indian Society for Quality (ISQ) for developing and awarding many awards in India, Asia, and at the international level. Some of the Awardees are business leaders of large global corporations. He was a Jury Member of the Mohamed Bin Rashid Government Excellence Award of UAE managed by the Prime Minister’s office since 2021 to 2023.

Janak has thus unique experience of TQM & business excellence within a company, company-wide covering entire supply chain, Group wide covering all companies in a group, nation-wide, region wide and global. He covers diverse business segments from discreet manufacturing, process industry and service sector including financial, communication, IT, healthcare etc. He has helped 17 companies to challenge and win the Deming Prize, one of the most coveted enterprise level awards for Total Quality Management.

He was awarded the Deming Distinguished Service Award by Deming Prize Committee, Japan, Founders Medal by International Academy for Quality, Lancaster Medal by American Society for Quality (ASQ) and Harington -Ishikawa Award by Asia Pacific Quality Organization (APQO)

He has been a keynote speaker and invited speaker at conferences/companies around the world in 46 countries including Japan, USA, Europe, Japan, China, Middle East, Southeast Asia, Central Asia, South Asia, Africa and South America.

Mr. Mehta has been involved in setting up various institutions for quality promotion in India and overseas and continues to do so. This includes TQM Division of CII, Quality Council of India (QCI), Indian Society for Quality (ISQ), Asian Network for Quality (ANQ) and Indian Foundation for Quality Management (IFQM) as nonprofit organizations and three others for profit organizations.
