Ashok Bapat is currently a Senior Counselor with TQMI. His areas of expertise include: Lean Six Sigma, Total Quality Management, Problem Solving, Design of Experiments, Statistical Process Control, Measurement Systems Analysis and Automotive Quality Management Systems.
Ashok Bapat is graduate in Mechanical Engineering from IIT, Bombay (1979) & M.M.S. from Symbiosis, Pune University (1984).
Ashok has been an approved trainer for Six Sigma and Lean Six Sigma Black & Green Belt courses conducted by TQMI, including those which are conducted on behalf of Motorola Solutions Learnings. He has conducted many open & in-house Six Sigma programs conducted for TQMI in India and abroad. He has also conducted an in-house advanced training for Master Black Belts & Black Belts for a client. He has facilitated in implementation of numerous Six Sigma Projects with substantial savings to his clients. His Six Sigma clients are from diverse Industrial sectors and include Atlas Copco, National Aluminum Company (NALCO), Crompton Greaves, EXL Service, Defiance Textiles, Diebold, Tata International, Tata Teleservices Ltd., Caliber Point, Indian Hotels, Max New York Insurance & Motorola Solutions Learnings.
Ashok began his career with SKF India Limited. Here he had an extensive exposure to manufacturing, quality assurance and marketing & sales. Later, Ashok also ran his own show as consultant under ‘Ace Quality Management Consultants’.
Ashok has been a lead auditor for ISO 9001 & ISO 14001. He was registered ‘QMS 2000’ auditor with IRCA, UK. He also has been on the panel of auditors of LRQA, KPMG & Intertek.
Ashok has received training on Daily Activity Management by Komatsu Career Creations, Japan. He attended JUSE-TQMI seminar on TQM facilitation Deming award experience sharing in November, 2012.
Ashok has helped several companies in different aspects of quality management, including Mahindra & Mahindra automotive & tractor divisions, SKF India Mumbai & Pune, SKF China, CR Seals Bangalore, Gabriel Mumbai, Raychem RPG, Jacobs Infrastructure, among others. He has also led supplier development initiatives of a few of these & other companies.
